Donald A. Knoth of Cape Girardeau has been appointed postmaster of the Sikeston Post Office. Knoth joined the postal service in 1971 at Bloomington, Ill. He was promoted to superintendent of postal operations at Bourbonnais, Ill., in 1979. In 1987, he was promoted to superintendent of postal operations and customer services at Cape Girardeau. Donald A. Knoth of Cape Girardeau has been appointed postmaster of the Sikeston Post Office.

Knoth joined the postal service in 1971 at Bloomington, Ill. He was promoted to superintendent of postal operations at Bourbonnais, Ill., in 1979. In 1987, he was promoted to superintendent of postal operations and customer services at Cape Girardeau. During this period in Cape Girardeau, he served as officer-in-charge at Cape Girardeau and West Plains, and as acting superintendent at Branson.

Knoth succeeds Clarence Sieg, who retired in October 1992. In the interim, John Gibson headed the Sikeston office as officer-in-charge.

The Sikeston office has 46 employees and delivers mail over 13 city rounds and six rural routes.

Knoth and his wife, Martha, who is employed at Zickfield Jewelry, reside in Cape Girardeau. They are the parents of three children.

Gail Gorham has joined AmeriFirst Bank in Cape Girardeau as marketing director.

Gorham's appointment was announced recently by Stan Thompson, executive vice president at AmeriFirst.

Gorham previously worked in public relations and marketing at First State Bank & Trust of Caruthersville. She will handle the bank's marketing programs and assist in business development. She will also help develop the bank's club account programs.

Gorham, her husband, Pat, and two sons reside in Jackson.

Mary F. Alsup of Sikeston has joined the American Lending Group branch office at Cape Girardeau as a loan officer.

Alsup has 10 years of experience in the real estate profession. She received her real estate license from the Real Estate School of Realtors of St. Louis. She has been a member of the Million Dollar Club, and is a member of the Sikeston Board of Realtors.

American Lending Group, 124 S. Broadview, Suite 2, specializes in the financing of residential mortgages. The firm, headquartered in St. Louis, recently opened a branch office at 125 S. Broadview, Suite 2, in Cape Girardeau.
