KELSO ORIENTATION FOR KINDERGARTEN WILL BE THURSDAY

NEW HAMBURG -- An orientation will be held Thursday at Kelso C-7 School for parents who will have children in kindergarten this fall.

The meeting is at 7:30 p.m.

All parents with children who will be 5 years old before July 1 should attend. They need to bring the child's birth certificate, immunization record, and Social Security number. Registration and enrollment forms will be available to fill out for school information.

A sign-up sheet for the KIDS test will also be available. It will be given the week of April 19 at the school.

A school official said the purpose of the meeting is to share information with parents and answer questions they may have regarding their child's education.

Topics to be discussed include kindergarten screening process, student eligibility, kindergarten curriculum, and things parents can do to better prepare children for kindergarten.
