WICKLIFFE, Ky. The Wickliffe Mounds Research Center will host a Native American Woods Walk Saturday and Sunday at Wickliffe, Ky.

Victoria G. Fortner, a ceremonial leader of Shawnee descent, will lead the groups of Wickliffe Mounds visitors on a guided tour of the site and grounds, pointing out various plants and discussing their traditional uses among Native Americans.

Organized tours will begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Between the tours, Fortner will be at the visitors' center, discussing traditional Native American uses of plants as foods, medicines and symbolic resources.

The Wickliffe Mounds Research Center is open daily from March 1 to Nov. 31. For more information, call (502) 335-3681.
