Hope Thompson of Scott City, a member of the club, said the money was given to Emily Jones, 5, daughter of Tim and Jean Jones of Perryville. The girl has a disease that causes a buildup of toxic ammonia in the body. Fewer than 300 people in the United States have the disorder.

The money was raised by raffling donated items at a recent dance, said Thompson.
