The Cape Girardeau Board of Education will meet tonight with members of Central High School's Student Senate to discuss renovation of the school's auditorium.

The board is also scheduled to address 1993-94 salaries for faculty members. Clark declined to outline the salary proposal, saying some provisions might change depending on teacher input today.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the auditorium.

Students requested a special meeting with the board in May to discuss auditorium needs.

"They've got a list of things they want to talk about needs, problems and current efforts to renovate the auditorium."

Specifically, students are concerned with the seating in the auditorium.

A private fund-raising effort has garnered about $14,000 over the last two years, but the estimated cost of the renovation is $100,000.

The Student Senate believes that raising all the money needed from private sources would be difficult and wants the school board to consider funding part of the project.

A closed meeting of the board is also scheduled to discuss a personnel issue, Clark said.
