SCOTT CITY -- Scott City resident Teresa Morrill will appear on the television show "Be A Star" Wednesday on The Nashville Network.

Morrill, who manages the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Cape Girardeau, actually taped the broadcast in Nashville last November.

She sang "Written in Stone," a tune previously recorded by Randy Travis, and finished second among the four contestants.

The show, scheduled to be broadcast at 4 p.m., offers prize money to performers who vie to return on subsequent programs and ultimately win $50,000.

Morrill, who does studio work in Cape Girardeau and performs for weddings, said the experience was a good one. "But competitions get expensive and time-consuming.

"I'd like to land something in Branson," she said.
