The Koshare Indian Dancers of La Junta, Colo., will perform Aug. 14 at the Show Me Center.

The Koshares, first formed in 1933, have been seen by millions of people through the years. Twice they have been invited by presidents to perform in Washington, D.C.

They have a repertoire of 100 dances representative of Plains and other Indian tribes. Some of their dances had disappeared until research by the Koshares resurrected them.

Their costumes consist of handmade beadwork and other handicrafts.

The Koshares have been featured in National Geographic and Reader's Digest magazines.

The 7:30 p.m. performance is being presented by the Cape Girardeau Bicentennial Commission.

Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for youths under 18.
