CONCERT WILL AID FLOOD VICTIMS

JACKSON - The Jackson Municipal Band will participate in a joint venture with the Perryville Community Band to aid flood victims in Perry County.

Flood victims will be helped by a joint concert involving both bands Thursday at 7 p.m. in Perryville City Park. A freewill contribution will be collected and all proceeds will go for flood relief.

A spokesman for the Jackson band said: "While the location of the city of Jackson in relation to the recent flood keeps us relatively safe, we do realize that the flooding of large areas of farmland, homes, and especially industry can be devastating to any community."

With that in mind, the board of the Jackson band decided to participate in the concert, said the spokesman.
