A 30-foot custom-designed trailer has been donated to St. Francis Medical Center by The Friends of St. Francis. The trailer made its debut at the SEMO District Fair in September, serving as the fair's first-aid station. "In the past, our first-aid services were headquartered in a tent with a dirt floor," said Linda Brown, director of St. Francis Emergency Services. "During bad weather, it was often difficult to keep our equipment and supplies out of the elements."

The hospital plans to use the trailer for mobile health screenings, community first-aid services and other area outreach programs. The trailer also can serve as a mobile command post in disaster response situations.
