The Small Business Development Center will conduct counseling sessions in three areas this month.

The counselor, Gil Degenhardt, will be available July 21 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce office. The counseling sessions (about one hour) are free. Call 335-3312 for an appointment.

He will conduct sessions at the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce July 20 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Appointments are available by calling 471-2498. He will hold sessions at the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning office in Perryville July 22 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Appointments are available by calling 547-8357.

The Small Business Development Center represents a "Partnership for Economic Development" between Southeast Missouri State University, the U.S. Small Business Administration, local financial institutions, area utility companies and Southeast Missouri municipalities. The goal of the center is to stimulate diversity and growth in small-business by assisting new and existing businesses to become more productive and more profitable.

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. Crownline Boats plans to add 150 employees at its factory here.

Crownline President Tim Claxton said the $5 million expansion should boost production from 17 boats a day to 25 boats per day. He said employment should grow to 400 workers.

State and local governments are lending Crownline part of the money for the expansion.

A.G. Edwards, Inc. has an~nounced record revenues and record net earnings for the first quarter, ending May 31, 1993.

Consolidated net earnings for the quarter were $28,089,000, equal to 80 cents per share, on revenues of $314,905,000.

For the same quarter of the prior year, net earnings were $27,424,000 equal to 60 cents per share on revenues of $252,550,000.

Per share earnings were based on 47,619,000 average common and common equivalent shares outstanding this year and 45,849,000 in the prior year.

Sears, Roebuck and Co. is spinning off its 80 percent interest in Dean Witter, Discover & Co. through a tax-free dividend to Sears common shareholders paid in Dean Witter, Discover common stock.

Under the plan completed in mid-week, Sears shareholders of record on June 28, 1993, will receive 0.39031 of a Dean Witter, Discover share for every share of Sears common stock they own. Any fractional shares will be paid in cash.

Sears originally sold a 20 percent interest in Dean Witter, Discover through an initial public offering in March, raising $905.9 million.
