BENTON - Two Southeast Missouri women were injured early Wednesday morning when the car they were in ran off the median and overturned on I-55, four miles south of Benton. BENTON - Two Southeast Missouri women were injured early Wednesday morning when the car they were in ran off the median and overturned on I-55, four miles south of Benton.

Laura Garner, 32, of Cape Girardeau, was the driver of the car and was treated for minor injuries at Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. A passenger, Debra Schuerenberg, 31, of Matthews, sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

The car was northbound on I-55 when it ran off the highway. Both women were ejected from the vehicle.

The Highway Patrol reported that Garner was arrested for driving with a revoked license.
