The Southeast Missourian asked students at May Greene Elementary School what they thought about the mild winter weather so far this year.
Jonathan Wiley: "I like it better than when it's real cold. I don't like snow that much, because it's cold. When it does snow, I like to make snowballs. I would rather that it stayed warmer, though."
Tekoa Hines: "I think kids think it's cold outside. I feel kind of sad that we have not had snow yet. I like it when it gets cold enough to have snow, because I like to build snowmen."
Heather Phillips: "I'm not too picky about the weather. It is easier to go outside for recess when it is warmer. If it snows, you can't go out as much. I like snow, but it won't bother me if we don't get much."
Danielle Carter: "I like this weather a lot because it's not too cold. I don't think we'll get much snow this year. I don't like to miss school because of snow. If we don't get much snow, it won't bother me."
Derek Gant: "I miss having snow around. You can have lots of fun in snow. My mom helps me build a snowman. I also like to build cars, boats and people with snow. I don't think we'll get much this year."
Tony Renschen: "I think it's more fun with snow. I like snow to stay around a while, but I would not want to miss school because of it. A lot of kids have missed school because of sickness this year."
