Vision 2000's Community Relations Council held its third annual Awards of Distinction breakfast at Southeast Missouri Hospital's Harrison Room on Thursday.

Among those individuals honored for "devoted service to the quality of life in Cape Girardeau" included: Michael Aide, Jim Dufek, Brian Golden, Judy Stricker, Susan Vickery, Jim Brickler and Ron Duff.

Organizations earning distinction were: the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Association, St. Francis Medical Center, Downtown Merchants Association, River Heritage Mural Association, Breakfast Exchange Club, First Presbyterian Church, the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department, Burger King, Save-A-Lot, and May Greene Garden Association.
