An exhibit on the history of Southeast Missouri State University is being planned by the spring 1992 Museum Studies class in the area of historic preservation.

Plans call for the exhibit to feature artifacts and memorabilia as they relate to historical periods of the institution including the Normal School, the State College and the university eras.

In conjunction with the project, the class is seeking the help of the community, alumni and the campus. Class members are seeking donations of historically significant objects from alumni and area residents, and the transfer of such items from various areas of the campus.

Relevant memorabilia will be added to the collection and preserved for the future. Items being sought include banners, beanies, letter sweaters, athletic uniforms, books, furniture, photographs, lab and computer equipment, and other items.

The exhibit, spearheaded in conjunction with the University Museum, will become part of the museum's permanent displays. Class members hope the exhibit helps educate new students, faculty and visitors about the university.

Persons interested in donating to the collection are asked to contact Pat Reagan-Woodard, University Museum director, at (314) 651-2260, or Bob White, Center for Regional History, at (314) 651-2809. Donation deadline is Feb. 21.
