A Cape Girardeau restaurant has added a 16-foot buffet bar.

"The buffet is available seven days a week," said Tony Douglas, general manager of the restaurant, Fisherman's Ketch, 2123 Broadway. "This is an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet, but it will include at least one other meat entree each day."

Douglas said the restaurant will also offer its regular menu.

The buffet will be available Mondays through Fridays for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

"The buffet will be available for dinner only on Saturday," he said. "A brunch will be served Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., which includes seafood and a breakfast bar featuring eggs, biscuits and gravy and other breakfast fare."

The weekend dinner buffet will include oysters on the half shell and crab legs. "We'll also have a chef carving roast beef for the weekend dinners," he said.

The lunch menu will feature seafood, a variety of vegetables, soup and salad.

Regular restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The restaurant is owned by Larry Haertling, who purchased the business last May.

Terry Darcy, who has 15 years of experience in the restaurant business, is manager of the restaurant. Mike Ruskin is assistant manager and Paula Baker is dining room manager.

The restaurant opened here in 1988 as Fishermen's Net. When Haertling purchased it the name was changed to Fishermen's Ketch.

The restaurant features pond-raised channel catfish and seafood. Also on the regular menu are prime rib and crab legs.
