The American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor its annual Poppy Day this Friday. They will be assisted by legion members.

The memorial flower was adopted by the auxiliary in 1920, and since that time programs have been conducted each year throughout the United States.

Contributions made on Poppy Day are used by the unit to aid needy veterans and their families in the community and in hospitals throughout the state.

Locally, much money is used for veterans at the Missouri Veterans Home here.
