Kara L. Heuring of Oran has been awarded a President's Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University during the 1992-1993 academic year.

The President's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank at least in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 24 on the ACT, those who rank in the upper 15 percent of their class and score 23 on the ACT, or those who are their class valedictorian or salutatorian.

The scholarship is worth $1,000 per academic year and is renewable for four years if a 3.5 grade point average is maintained.

Heuring is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Heuring of Oran and will be a 1992 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton.
