Jeffrey A. Sterling, formerly of Cape Girardeau, has graduated from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. He earned a juris doctoris degree.

He was a member of the Black Law Student Association and Student Bar Association. He was the 1991-92 second place winner of high oralist, regional competitor in Washington D.C. and the 1990-91 high oralist regional semifinalist in Madison, Wis. in the Jessup International Law Moot Court competition.

He was awarded the Judge Amadus Brackman Moot Court prize for proficiency in briefing and arguing cases in Moot Court competition.

Sterling graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1985 and received his BA degree from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. in 1989.

He is the son of Helen Sterling of Cape Girardeau.
