DRIVER INJURED IN FIRE TRUCK ACCIDENT

SCOTT CITY -- A fireman with the New Hamburg-Benton-Commerce fire department was injured Sunday in a fire truck accident in Scott County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said David Perkins, 19, of Scott City, received minor injuries. He was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where he was treated and released.

The fire truck ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said. Perkins was alone in the truck, a 1970 Ford.

The accident occurred in Scott County, three miles south of the county line on Route N.

Perkins was apparently returning from a minor fire call, the patrol said.
