The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band will open its 1992 season Wednesday evening. The first concert was originally scheduled last week, but was rained out.

The free concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Capaha Park band shell.

This marks the 66th concert season under the sponsorship of the city of Cape Girardeau. It also marks the 15th year the band has been directed by Jon Kent Fisher.

The Celebrity Guest Conductor this week will be Cape Girardeau Mayor Gene Rhodes. He will conduct "His Honor March."

Special guest performer for the evening will be magician Bill Coomer.

The concert's musical program includes: Burst of Flame March, A Festive Overture, Trumpets Ole' featuring the trumpet section, Gershwin selections, Begin The Beguine, and selections from the Broadway musical Oklahoma.

The public is invited to bring a lawn chair for this concert in the park.
