Lorie Michelle Coomer of Kennett has been awarded a Regents' Scholarship, a Missouri Leadership Award, and a Girls State Leadership Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University during the 1992-1993 academic year.

The Regents' Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who graduate in the top 10 percent of their class and who score above the 90th percentile on the ACT or SAT test. The award covers full-time fees per semester and is renewable for four years.

The Missouri Leadership Award is a one-year award designed for Missouri students who have demonstrated leadership and academic abilities.

The Girls State Leadership Award is given to beginning freshmen who are enrolled full time and who have attended Girls State. They must have an ACT composite score of 20 and a 2.5 GPA after six or seven semesters.

Coomer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Niederkorn of Kennett and a 1992 graduate of Kennett High School. She plans to major in physical therapy at Southeast.
