The Cape Girardeau Central High School choirs will perform a fall concert Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the high school auditorium.

The concert is a preview of a choral music festival scheduled Tuesday in New Madrid.

Director Judy Williams said a varied program is planned for the Monday performance. In addition to singing, students will also tell about the music and the periods those pieces are from.

Music from the renaissance period, a selection of patriotic music, folk songs of different cultures, gospel music and show tunes will be performed.

Williams said the Chamber Choir, the Girl's Concert Choir and the Men's Ensemble will sing.

Soloists are Alison Nall and Clayton Hahs. Featured accompanists are Beverly Reese on jazz piano and Tara Wright on flute.
