LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Joann Rebekah Schmitt and Daniel Bradley James were married May 20, 2000, at Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville, Mo. The Revs. William McCormick and Ann Mowery performed the double ring ceremony. Music was presented by Marian Martin of Jackson, Mo., Darlene Revell of Sedgewickville, Mo., and Brenda Neumeyer of Gordonville.

Parents of the bride are Charles and Dorothy Schmitt of Leopold. The groom is the son of Jimmy James of Scopus, Mo., and Margaret McClard of Shawneetown, Mo.

Maid of honor was Crystal Overbeck of Gordonville, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Susan Jordan of Scopus, sister of the groom, and Susan Dunning of Chaffee.

William McClard of Shawneetown served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Charles D. Schmitt of Leopold, brother of the bride, and Stacey Lincoln of Scopus. Guests were seated by Roger Overbeck of Gordonville, cousin of the bride.

Flower girl and ringbearer were Rebekah and Daniel James Jr. of Leopold, children of the groom.

Candlelighter was Marian Martin, aunt of the groom.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Servers were Dee Dee McCutcheon and Darlene Revell. A dance was held later at Cactus Trails in Gordonville.

Mrs. James is a 1992 graduate of Delta High School, and attends Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at LeeRowan Co. in Jackson.

The groom is a 1990 graduate of Oak Ridge High School, and served five years in the U.S. Army. He is employed at ARI Industries in Jackson.

The couple resides in Leopold.
