JACKSON, Mo. -- Julia R. Schmid and Eric J. Pitts were married Aug. 12, 2000, at Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. David L. Pitts, father of the groom, performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Jean Schweain. Soloists were David Pitts, Lisa Barrett, Bryan Schmid, and the bride and groom.

Parents of the bride are Tom and Kathy Schmid of Jackson. The groom is the son of David and Karen Pitts of Sacramento, Calif.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents.

Lisa Barrett of Harrison, Ark., was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Whitney Brothers of Champaign, Ill.; Sarah Wilson of Nashville, Tenn.; Rachel Pitts of St. Louis, sister-in-law of the groom; and Rachel Johannes of St. Louis.

Best man was Jason Pitts of St. Louis, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were David Pitts of St. Louis, brother of the groom; Bryan Schmid of Jackson, brother of the bride; Josh Barrett of Harrison, brother-in-law of the bride; and Davey Pitts of St. Louis, nephew of the groom. Junior groomsman was Andrew Schmid of Jackson, brother of the bride.

Flower girl was Ashley Pitts, daughter of David and Kathie Pitts and niece of the groom.

Guest book attendants were Amy Bullock and Erika Knowlan.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Enchanted Gardens in Jackson. Servers were Kathie Pitts, Amy Bullock, Erika Knowlan and Nancy Lape.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 11 at the church, with 50 guests attending.

Mrs. Pitts is a 1995 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Missouri Baptist College in 1999. She is director of dual enrollment student services at the college.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Selah High School in Selah, Wash. He is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in business administration at Missouri Baptist College. He is employed in the education department at the college.

After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in St. Louis.
