You know it's wrong

I JUST finished watching "Boston Public." It had a story on it about a girl student who was being sexually abused by her father. I've seen movies and TV shows about this, and I hear it's happening to one in every four girls. This has to come to a stop. Parents, you cannot sexually abuse your children. You know it's wrong. You've got to know it's wrong. Bring it to a stop. Mothers, fathers, pay attention. You can surely see signs of it happening. Pay attention and do something about it. Just stop it. It's so disgusting. It's sickening.

Not my views

IN RESPONSE to the caller who labeled John Ashcroft an "in-your-face radical," America is evenly divided on abortion. Thus Ashcroft's views against abortion reflect the views of half of all Americans. The same can be said of gun control and unfair racial preferences. It seems that what this caller was actually saying was, "How dare John Ashcroft have views that differ from my own?"

Our Social Security

I SO agree with the letter from the Rev. David Dissen regarding the Social Security Administration. Congress at one time voted themselves an enormous raise. But it was in the middle of the night, and nobody knew about it until it was over. But you wait until George Bush takes money out of Social Security to give to people to deposit themselves, and you'll see Social Security go to that place that the reverend preaches against.

Who else was there?

TIMOTHY McVEIGH is going to be put to death. With him goes a lot of knowledge of who else was involved in it with him. This causes me to wonder what happened to John Doe No. 2? Why is the FBI apparently no longer looking for him even though there are credible witnesses who suggest there is a John Doe No. 2. The trial never proved that Timothy McVeigh actually triggered the bomb. I think there are others involved with this, and the government knows it. And they're probably anxious to put Timothy McVeigh to rest.

Disgraceful stance

I WAS wondering if anyone watching all the shows talking about John Ashcroft happened to catch the Democrat from California who was talking about Ashcroft's stance against abortion and birth control, and happened to mention in almost the same breath that she was a Catholic. I think she has disgraced Catholics by taking a stance for abortion and birth control while standing against Ashcroft.

She's for a minority

I'VE BEEN listening to Patricia Ireland, the president of the National Organization for Women, give her opinion as to why John Ashcroft being attorney general would put women at risk. That really makes me sick. She doesn't speak for me or for most of the women I know. If men think she does, I encourage you to look again and realize that she doesn't. She speaks for a minority of women.

Hearing things

SOMETHING IS wrong with my hearing. I hope I am not having auditory hallucinations. I swear I heard Attorney General-nominee John Ashcroft say he considers Roe vs. Wade "settled law." That would mean that in a legal sense he considers the issue of abortion to be settled, over with, done. Now we all know I was either hearing things or misunderstood what the senator said. Will someone in Speak Out land please straighten me out?
