Placing the blame

I READ Rich Comeau's column about the Melissa virus. Since I am a computer geek and an Internet nerd, I understood most of it. Still, I've got a feeling Rich's message may be hard to decipher for non-nerds. One thing that was clear is that Rich blames Microsoft for the so-called Melissa computer virus. Microsoft? Yes, that's right. Not one word was mentioned about the perpetrator of the crime, a person believed to be David Smith of New Jersey. In addition, Rich managed to razz the cable-TV industry, give Bell hell for not offering something called DSL and so on.

Complaint about cemetery flowers

THIS IS addressed to the people who take care of the Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Do you people not know the difference between a faded out, Christmas flower and a new spring flower? We put flowers on a grave March 26. A week later, we go out there at Easter and the flowers are all gone. Now I'm sure you can tell the difference between a Christmas flower and a spring flower.

Herbs are made by God

THIS IS referring to the comment about prescription drugs and herbs. The article is absolutely correct when it says that 200,000 people a year die from prescription drug overdose. I've seen what prescription drugs do to a person first hand. My mother was put on prescription drugs by a psychiatrist. They made her lose her mind. She can't control her bowels at all. She wakes up screaming, "I'm insane. I'm going crazy." She was prescribed drugs for depression and ended up losing her mind. Herbs are safe. God made them for the use of man in Genesis and Psalms. God-made herbs or man-made prescription drugs -- which do you trust? Man should humble himself and listen what God says about herbs and study them instead of poisoning people with man-made chemicals that doctors would have something worth prescribing.

ABOUT THE time change: I think we should leave it alone and leave our time the same all year around. This is ridiculous. My kids get up to go to school, and they are so tired. The teachers say they are tired for two to three weeks to get adjusted. They need to leave the thing alone.
