All kinds of help needed

TEENS need help. We need not only watch for teens with anger, but also look at the people who do not accept others into their little groups. Anyone who gossips does not accept those who are different and makes fun of others has a problem also. All need help.

Same potential for violence

LET ME assure the public that today's young athletes and scholars have as much potential for violence if they do not get their way as did the young men who are responsible for the school shootings during the past several years. The difference is that these young athletes and scholars generally get their way and have others running interference for them. The same anger and potential for violence is apparent among almost all of today's youth.

Help keep trail clean

THANK YOU, John Hill and Gene LaFont, for picking up the trash on the new Osage Trail. Let's all try to help keep it beautiful like it started out to be. Also, dog owners, please clean up after your dogs when you walk them on the trail. This makes it nicer for everyone.

Students deserve protection

WELL, THERE'S another school shooting, and why should anybody be surprised? When did it start? It started with the stricter gun laws like the Brady Bill. As the bills got tighter, the worse the school violence got. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see the Brady Bill is to blame. It didn't help anything. When the private citizen cannot defend himself, the criminal takes over. If Colorado had let the teachers in that school have the right to carry, this would not have happened. If only 100 teachers had the right to carry and were carrying weapons, these boys would have never tried it at all. And as one of our famous leaders said one time, anyone can get in the pen with baseball bat and beat sheep to death, but they wouldn't even think of getting in a cage with a lion.

Going through the garbage

I WOULD like to comment on Cape Girardeau's spring cleanup. I think the spring cleanup is a very good thing, but people have to also remember that the pickup for the springtime cleanup is also on your normal trash day. When people set out trash cans, it's normally garbage. I came home from lunch on trash day during the cleanup. My trash can was turned over. Someone had gone through all my garbage and left it out on the street. So stay away from the garbage. You're welcome to anything else, but usually trash cans are garbage. And if you make a mess, please clean it up.

Let's show our pride

COME ON, people of Cape Girardeau. Let's keep it up. Keep the trash out, and let's show that we have pride in our city and ourselves.
