A waffler's waffler

THE REPUBLICANS just better shut up whenever they say that Clinton waffles. They have the biggest waffler that ever waffled out: Jack Kemp. The two stands he made: affirmative action, which he fought for and practically went into convulsions for during cabinet meetings, and illegal aliens, he was one of the big protesters against the referendum they had on the ballot. He's hypocritical as all get out. They may say that Gore changes his stands -- it's a little different than changing your view on right to life than an alien's livelihood after they get over here. Kemp was very much against Bush's plan on housing, but then Bush got to him and told him to shut up or get out so he backed down. That's the kind of vice president the Republicans put up. So, I could see that they're a dirty outfit that used disabled people to make them look good, and they use the minorities to hide the fact that they could care less about minorities.

Waiting for the judge

I'D LIKE to comment on the editorial you had about the federal judge being so slow. The people at LENCO -- I realize it's not a life and death situation -- have been waiting a year and a half for a decision that the judge is going to make, and I think most of us will probably be dead before he makes a decision.

How about one big school?

I WAS sitting here thinking, if they're going to build a big school out on Bertling, why don't they build a big one and put all the elementary schools out there instead of trying to separate the rich from the poor?

Government math explained

I WANT to comment about the person who said the Republicans must have a new system of math and said they can't seem to figure it out. They said, "How does less of anything add up to more of anything?" Well, let me explain it to you. The less taxes the government takes out of your pocket, the more money you as a private citizen have in your pocket. The less money the government takes to do something for you, the more money you have to do the same thing at a cheaper price for yourself. Now do you get it?

A robust source

BOB DOLE, Jack Kemp, and the Republican Party have a lot of ideas envisioned, and they get them all from a robust source.

Convention babies

EXACTLY WHAT can of family values are these Republican delegates and conventioneers espousing when they're dragging their tiny little babies to the convention? There's a lot of noise, a lot of people, it's late at night and they're trying to sleep -- that's real good family values. I'm a Democrat, and I know where my kids would be. At home, in bed, under the covers. If you can't get someone to babysit, what's the point of taking these little babies to the convention? They don't know what's going on. What are you trying to do, break them in early?
