CHARLESTON - Roberta "Bobbie" Powell, 77, of Charleston, died Friday, Nov. 22, at her home.

She was born in Blodgett on Nov. 4, 1915 to Schyler A. and Rita Lewis Bradley.

Survivors include two sons, Arlen Powell of Shreveport, La., and Calvin Powell of Jefferson City; two daughters, Vera Shultz and Faye Elliott, both of Charleston;

One brother, John Bradley of Godfrey, Ill.; three sisters, Nattie Chappell of Detroit, Mich., Maye Barnes and Gaye Wolferdink, both of Charleston.

Eleven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

Powell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, and a member of the Charleston Chapter 122, Order of Eastern Star.

She was employed for 18 years at the Buckner-Ragsdale store in Charleston, 7 years at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, and 3 years at Elliott's Tire Center in Charleston.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at the Nunelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The body will lie in state after 10 a.m., Monday, at the First Baptist church in Charleston. Funeral services will be held Monday at the church at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Burk and the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories in Sikeston.
