MARIE MCLARD

JACKSON - Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Marie McLard, Rt. 1, Jackson. She died at St. Francis Medical Center Saturday, Feb. 2, 1991. She was 96.

She was born Jan. 26, 1895, near Jackson, the daughter of Robert Anderson and Martha Ella Russell. She married Cross McLard on Dec. 14, 1922. He died Feb. 12, 1987.

Surviving is one son, Gene McLard of Rt. 1, Jackson. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

She was a charter member of the Byrd's Creek Homemakers Club, a lifelong member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, and a member of the Brookside 4-H Club. She was a self-employed seamstress for many years.

Services will begin Tuesday at 2 p.m. at McComb's Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Burial will be at Old Apple Creek Cemetery in Pocohontas.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
