Hovis, of St. Louis, died Feb. 15, 1991.

She was born March 10, 1933.

She is survived by her husband, Utah T. Hovis; sons, Thomas Hovis of St. Louis, Frank Schlechter and James Schlechter both of St. Louis; John Schlechter of Scott City; Raymond Andrews of Indiana; Fred Mertz and Patrick Mertz, both of St. Louis.; daughters Barbara Schlechter of St. Louis; stepsons, Harold Hovis, Delmar Hovis, and Lonnie Hovis; step daughter, Charlotte Mann; a brother, William ("Bud") Holder of Scott city; 28 grand children; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, and a step son.

Service was held at the Gateway Temple, with McLaughlin's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
