WYATT -- Wallace Franklin Brown, 80, of Wyatt died Friday, May 10, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 23, 1910, in Calvert City, Ken., the son of Brantley Burton and Ida Robert Champion Brown. He lived in Wyatt since 1949 and was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church. WYATT -- Wallace Franklin Brown, 80, of Wyatt died Friday, May 10, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 23, 1910, in Calvert City, Ken., the son of Brantley Burton and Ida Robert Champion Brown.

He lived in Wyatt since 1949 and was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church. He was employed with Brown Shoe Co. until his retirement in 1967.

On Oct. 26, 1929, he married Vera Houston, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include five sons, Harold Brown of Wyatt, Larry Brown of Charleston, Justin and Mark Brown, both of East Prairie and Kevin Brown of Benton; four daughters, June Leffler of Wyatt, Wanda Cogdill of East Prairie, Betty Carrington of Malden, and Connie Riley of Savannah, Tenn.; a sister, Thelma Floyd of Collierville, Tenn.; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call today prior to the funeral at 1 p.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Tom Bridges will officiate, and burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

James D. Brown

BERTRAND James D. Brown, 68, of Bertrand died Friday, May 10, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born July 24, 1922 in Lilbourn, the son of Emmett and Mary Kelly Brown.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bertrand, a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Donaldson Brown, of the home; two sons, Roger Brown of Arab, Ala. and Mike Brown of Avon Park, Fla.; six daughters, Cheryl Brown of the home, Barbara Norman and Panzsy Phillips, both of Charleston, Carla Skinner of Cleveland, Ohio, Dona Chiofalo of Rotterdam, N.Y., and Michelle Garrett of Fort Polk, La.; a brother, P.A. Brown of East Prairie; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, five brothers, a sister, and a grandson.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Lee Fansler will officiate, and burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Full military graveside rites will be given at the cemetery.
