BERTRAND -- Effie H. Wilkerson, 90, of Bertrand, died Monday, May 13, 1991, at Miner Nursing Center. She was born May 18, 1900, in Livingston County, Ky., daughter of Jesse and Daisy Williams Hurley. She married William B. Wilkerson Nov. 5, 1916. He died Sept. 7, 1971...

BERTRAND -- Effie H. Wilkerson, 90, of Bertrand, died Monday, May 13, 1991, at Miner Nursing Center.

She was born May 18, 1900, in Livingston County, Ky., daughter of Jesse and Daisy Williams Hurley. She married William B. Wilkerson Nov. 5, 1916. He died Sept. 7, 1971.

Survivors include two daughters, Magdaline Lindsey of Charleston, Betty Robeson of Sikeston; a brother, Joe Hurley of Charleston; three sisters, Ola Berry and Edna Phillips of Bertrand, Bertie Chaney of East Prairie; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, a grandson, four brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Rev. Charles Green will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of service.
