CLARA B. OWENS

SIKESTON -- Clara B. Owens, 85, of Wappapello, formerly of Sikeston, died Friday, May 24, 1991, at Bluff Manor in Poplar Bluff.

She was born Sept. 11, 1905, in New Madrid County, daughter of James and Effie Widows Gaddis. She married Roy Earl Owens April 2, 1927, at Matthews. He died April 24, 1970.

Owens had worked at Lambert's Cafe here, and she and her husband owned and operated Sikeston Ice House. She attended First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert Owens of Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Betty Ramsey and Shirley Gardner of Wappapello, Barbara Harper of Sikeston Route 3; two brothers, Robert Gaddis of Sikeston, Grover Cox of Anderson, Ind.; three sisters, Sue Wise, Billie Martin and Dorothy Helton of Sikeston; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Darren Widner will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
