PERRYVILLE -- Lloyd L. Pourney, 65, of Perryville, died Friday, May 24, 1991, at John Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Perry County, son of Francis and Effie Gibbar Pourney.

He was a boat deckhand on the river.

Pourney was a World War II Navy veteran who fought in five battles in the South Pacific: Leyte, Luzon, Saipan, Iwojima and Okinawa.

Survivors are two sons and two brothers, Ray Pourney and Zexia Pourney, both of Perryville.

A brother preceded him in death.

Service will be at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
