Retta Blanche Ruppel of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 7, 1991. Ruppel, 105, was born Mar. 28, 1886, at Leeman, Mo., daughter of Casper and Sheba Daugherty Ruppel. Retta Blanche Ruppel of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 7, 1991.

Ruppel, 105, was born Mar. 28, 1886, at Leeman, Mo., daughter of Casper and Sheba Daugherty Ruppel.

She attended Southeast Missouri State University, where she received her teacher's certificate. She was a school teacher 25 years and taught at Leemon, Ste. Genevieve, Millersville, Bernie and Diehlstadt. She worked a number of years at the Presbyterian Children's Home at Farmington, Mo.

She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, the U.M.C. Circle, Missouri State Retired Teachers Association, and was a charter member of the Fort D Senior Citizens.

She worked some years with the Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by a niece, Susan Lozier of Pleasanton, Calif.; a nephew, Dr. Jim Ruppel of Annapolis, Md.; cousins, Carl Meyer of Cape Girardeau and Mrs. Jake Fredricks of Jackson; and sisters-in-law, Velma Ruppel, Carmichael, Calif., and Mrs. Wilson Ruppel, Pleasanton, Calif.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Service will be held Sunday at 2:30 at Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Mt. Auburn Road, with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to the 2:30 service time.
