CAIRO, Ill. -- Walter Joe Wallace, 69, of Cairo, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 25, 1991, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
He was born July 18, 1922, son of Walter Wallace and Kate Cook Wallace.
He was a retired deck hand, a member of Cairo United Pentecostal Church and a veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Fay Wallace, in 1982, and a daughter, Geneva Vincent in 1989.
He is survived by one son, Joe Wallace, Paducah; one brother, Charlie Wallace, Cairo; one sister, Bell Potts of Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Monday. Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Revs. Robert Burchett and Bill Elliott will officiate
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
