JACKSON -- Linda Douglass, 37, of Jackson, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1991, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She was born May 12, 1954, at Ironton, daughter of Melvin and Helen Bridgewater Fields. She married Victor Douglass July 17, 1981. JACKSON -- Linda Douglass, 37, of Jackson, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1991, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born May 12, 1954, at Ironton, daughter of Melvin and Helen Bridgewater Fields. She married Victor Douglass July 17, 1981.

Douglass was a graduate of Ellington High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1974.

She had been a librarian at St. Clair High School in St. Clair, and since 1973 had been librarian at Kelly High School in Benton. She had lived in Jackson since 1987, and was a member of Dayspring Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Joshua, Matthew and Benjamin of the home; her mother of Reynolds; three brothers, Fred and Ron Fields of St. Louis, Gary Fields of Columbia; five sisters, Marilyn Miller and Cathy Chapman of St. Louis, Carolyn Meade of the Philippines, Glenda Cooley of Alton, and Beverly McWilliams of Gentry, Ark.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Tom Foster and W.H. Newmann will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
