Curtis C. "Dude" Guiling, 77, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Bee Branch, Ark., son of Adron and Mealie Hogue Guiling. He and Lillian Fowler were married March 7, 1938. Guiling moved to Missouri in 1935 and had resided in Lilbourn, Sikeston and Essex until moving to Cape Girardeau in 1971. Curtis C. "Dude" Guiling, 77, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Bee Branch, Ark., son of Adron and Mealie Hogue Guiling. He and Lillian Fowler were married March 7, 1938.

Guiling moved to Missouri in 1935 and had resided in Lilbourn, Sikeston and Essex until moving to Cape Girardeau in 1971. He was a retired farmer, and member of the General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Guiling of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Glenda Duncan of Benton, Ruth Yelverton of Houston, Texas, Faye Milford of Sacramento, Ky., Norma Thomas of Ontario, Calif., and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Doyle Corlew will officiate, with burial in Bloomfield Cemetery.
