WAPPAPELLO -- Funeral service for Leonard Ford of Wappapello will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Clinton Woodfin will officiate, assisted by the Rev. James Johns. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.

Ford, 66 years old, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Dover, Ark., son of Thomas and Alice Laymon Ford. He and the former LaVerne Hindman were married May 16, 1946, in Bloomfield.

Ford was a member of Teamsters Local 600 more than 27 years, and was a dockhand with a freight company. He was a member of the VFW Post at Puxico, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Darrell Ford of St. Louis; three sisters, Elsie Johns of Brownwood, Lee Simmons of Advance, Faye Cato of Radcliff, Ky., and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
