PLAYWRIGHT'S WORKSHOP WILL FEATURE STUDENT WORKS

CARBONDALE, ILL. America's future playwrights will exhibit their works during the annual summer Playwright's Workshop, July 22-24 and 29-31.

Student works will be performed in the Laboratory Theater at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

This summer's bill opens with "Don't Bury Me Deep" by Denise Kay Dillard. A "comic nightmare lampooning America's health system, the insurance racket and the American government."

"Don't Bury Me Deep" will be followed by "Bensonhurst" by Victoria Rosa. It was inspired by a true incident in Bensonhurst, N.Y., in 1989.

Finishing off this summer's Playwright's Workshop will be "Prison of Our Own Desires" by John Reeves. The play illustrate the hardships of a young Russian prince as he tries to save a young woman from injustice.
