MOUNDS, Ill. -- A youth fishing day and a pair of tournaments are on schedule in Southern Illinois Saturday, during the free-fishing days program in Illinois.
The kids fishing day, to be held at Oakwood Bottoms Greentree Reservoir near Grand Tower, Ill., is sponsored by the Murphysboro Ranger District of the Shawnee National Forest.
A lake fishing tournament will be held near Mounds, sponsored by the Pulaski-Alexander 4-H Council, and a father/son fishing tournament will be held at Lake Mermet near Metropolis.

Free fishing days in Illinois are today through Monday.
Meanwhile, "Free Fishing Days" will be held in Missouri Saturday and Sunday.
During the free fishing days anglers are not required to have a fishing license.
