The Delta Queen steamboat will dock at the Cape Girardeau waterfront this morning, a spokesperson for the Delta Queen Steamboat Co. in New Orleans said.

Laurel Adkisson of the Cape Girardeau Convention & Visitors Bureau said the boat may dock as early at 7 a.m. The company notified the tourism bureau late Wednesday that it would stop between 7 and 9 a.m. today.

The boat typically docks for several hours to allow passengers time to visit the downtown area.

Earlier this week, the steamboat canceled the stop and notified the convention and visitors bureau. But plans were changed again. The historic steamboat will stop in Cape en route from St. Louis.
