GREEN THUMBS GARDEN CLUB ELECTS ITS NEW OFFICERS

The Green Thumbs Junior Garden Club elected officers at the club's second meeting Sept. 16.

President is Cassie Westrich; vice president-treasurer is Nikki Tanksley; corresponding secretary is Christopher York. Committees and their chairmen are: library flower bed, Liesl Schoenberger and Liz Robertson; programs, Becky Keller and Ryan Keller; plant and potpourri sales, Will Tanksley and Kim Diesel.

Members toured the library grounds and each received a tree seedling. They chose the rose as the club flower and green as the club color.

The junior garden club is sponsored by the Cape Girardeau Garden Club.

The next Green Thumbs meeting will be Oct. 12 at 3:30 p.m. at the Sunny Hill Garden Center. The program will be how to plant bulbs and how and what to fee birds during the winter.
