The Missouri executive committee of the Sierra Club will meet Saturday and Sunday in Cape Girardeau.

The newly-formed Southeast Missouri Trail of Tears group of the Sierra Club will host the meeting.

The state governing body will meet on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University as guests of the Biology Club. The two-day agenda deals with environmental activities in the five Missouri groups, administrative business and a regional conservation and other environmental issues that the state chapter is currently addressing. High on the list of priorities for the organization are forestry, wetland and mining issues.

The meeting represents the first time the state executive committee has met in Cape Girardeau.

Meetings will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 316 of Rhodes Hall of Science.
