JBR OUTFITTERS LTD. PLANS GRAND OPENING

JBR Outfitters Ltd. will hold its grand opening next weekend.

The new retail business, which specializes in outdoors equipment and clothing, opened recently at 1 West Park Village.

"We are a complete Orvis dealer," said Barbara Piper, one of the owners, and a spokesman for the firm. "Orvis is one of the country's oldest mail order companies, and has lines featuring hunting and fishing equipment, gifts and outdoors and casual clothing."

Also available at JBR Outfitters is clothing from Browning and Columbia.

Gift certificates and door prizes will be presented during grand opening weekend.

"We'll present 10 gift certificates Saturday," said Piper. "People have to register for these certificates between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday."

The door prizes will be given Sunday evening.

"People can register for the door prizes Saturday and Sunday, and they don't have to be present to win," said Piper.

One of the door prizes will be a $285 Orvis flyrod.

The store, which consists of 6,000 square feet, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Owners of the new operation are Rodney Phegley, James Phegley and Barbara Piper. They also operate Phegley's Shooter Supply.
