GROCERY GIVEAWAY BEING HELD

JACKSON -- A $300 grocery giveaway will headline a special promotion being conducted by Jackson merchants and Global Marketing. Global, headquartered in St. Louis, has conducted special promotion campaigns in several Southeast Missouri communities, using the grocery giveaway as centerpiece of the promotion.

Town and Country Supermarket, Highway 61 East in Jackson, will offer $300 worth of free groceries. Other merchants will offer special coupons.

"We've worked with Town & Country Super markets at Fredericktown, Dexter, Farmington, Potosi and Flat River," said Eric Ebbinghaus, sales promotion consultant for Global.

"This is an eight-week promotion," he said. "Our company prepares coupons and ads for the participating businesses in the promotion. The idea of the program is to have several businesses band together to promote shopping at Jackson. It's a way for businesses to work together to promote their town."

Consumers can pick up the coupon pamphlets at Town and Country Supermarket. The pamphlet contains a number of coupons which must be deposited at participating stores.
