Five new members have been elected to the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts Board of Directors.
Elected Thursday were Chuck McGinty, Pat Reagan-Woodard, Kerrye Foley, Kurre Allen and Brian Stevens. New officers for the organization are Ann Swanson, chairman; Susie Felker, vice-chairman; Donna Domain, secretary. Other board members are Joann Ruess and Martin Jones.
The arts council has also received a number of books from Otto Dingeldien's collection and a contribution of $1,931.72 from the Dingeldein estate.
A founder of the arts council, Dingeldein died in March. Beverly Strohmeyer, executive director of the arts council, said a committee will be established to determine how the funds will be used.
"One possibility would be to set up a library so that others could utilize the collection of art books," she said.
The Otto Dingeldein Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts was presented this year to Carol Horst for her contributions to art education.
