The 1992 Southeast Missouri Honors Wind Ensemble will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 4 in Academic Auditorium on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The ensemble consists of 50 high school students chosen by audition from several hundred young people representing 40 Missouri school districts.

The program will include a premiere of "An American Trinity" composed by James Erdman of Cape Girardeau on a commission from the Southeast Missouri School Band Association.

The program also will feature original band works by American composers Robert Jager, Jack Stamp and David Maslanka; a Scottish folk song arranged by Percy Grainger; and a second performance of the "Cape Girardeau March," written by Norwegian composer Geir Knutson.

The Honors Wind Ensemble will be conducted by Southeast Professor of Music and Coordinator of Applied Music Dr. Robert Gifford.
