SCOTT CITY -- Mr. B's Waffle Hut and Family Restaurant is now open at Scott City.

"We're offering basically the same menu here that we offer at Cape Girardeau," said Basil Barnes.

Barnes and his wife, Patricia, are also owners of Mr. B's Waffles and Deli at the Crossroads shopping center, Kingshighway and Independence, in Cape Girardeau.

"Breakfast will be available any time, and we'll offer plate-lunch specials and evening meals," he added.

The Scott City restaurant is located at 210 Crites. Co-managers of the new restaurant are Rhonda Lee and Linda Hamilton.

The new restaurant will be open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday.

"We'll be open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday," he said.

The new facility will seat about 70 people.

The Barnes family has been in the restaurant business a number of years. They opened Pete's Pumps in 1984 and operated that business more than six years. The couple opened in the Crossroads in February 1990.
